After this we began looking at ways to optimize the Jagex client further to not use as much. This went out in updates on Aug 31 and Sep 1 as 1.1.3.1 and 1.1.3.2, and from all reports has removed the ToA lag with the HD plugin enabled. Naturally, this means that any fan-led project which seeks to change the way Old School RuneScape looks is at odds with our own plans. I've excluded most of these from being cached, and also optimized the way which is it storing the cached data. This is an in-house project and, though early, is very much in progress. Whilst it's still relatively early in the exploration stages, and while we will always maintain an authentic style for Old School we can confirm that we are actively investigating and experimenting with enhanced graphics and what that means to Old School RuneScape's visuals. Both Jagex and 117Scape have come to an official agreement, and the creator of the mod is "personally very happy" with the arrangement.
